Women are at least twice as likely to experience an episode of major depression as men
Compared to their white counterparts, Black women are only half as likely to seek help.
Sista Afya Community Care exists to change that.
A much-needed space where Black women can connect and heal
SACC focuses our programs on serving Black women who are in their young adult years (Ages 18-35). We believe that supporting Black women in their young adult years can help to change the trajectory of their lives by engaging them in culturally responsive and gender-responsive mental wellness care.
Through SACC’s three programs, we provide a variety of ways to engage and get support: individual therapy, groups, and community community connection level.
Thrive in Therapy
Free community mental wellness care for women experiencing multiple barriers to care, including but not limited to individual therapy with a trained mental wellness professional.
Free workshops, groups and wellness classes where Black women can connect, learn, and support one another with their mental wellness.
Developing Mental Wellness Warriors
Free Mental Health First Aid professional development program training community members to respond to mental health crises.
